Danish Foreign Ministry Official at IES

On June 17, 2010, Rene Dinesen, Director of Strategy and Policy Planning at the Danish Foreign Ministry visited IES.  He told IES Director Zhou Hong and other IES researchers that his unit was newly established as a part of the restructuring efforts in the foreign ministry to promote policy coordination. He was recalled from New York to undertake this post in Copenhagen.

Dinesen asked Zhou Hong about her views regarding the current situation of the EU-China relations and other related question.  Zhou Hong said that think-tanks from both sides should play a more important role in facilitating mutual understanding of each other.

Dinesen said that both EU and China should make efforts to make the bilateral relations better. Both the host and the guest were optimistic about the future of the bilateral relations.

Dinesen was accompanied by two Danish embassy officials.
