seminar on european economic model
The seminar on “European economic model” was held successfully in Beijing on October 17th-18th, 2006. The seminar was held by the Institute of European Studies (IES), CASS and University of Freiburg, and it is one of the activities of the program of “European Model: Experience and Inspiration” now implemented by IES. 28 scholars from CASS, Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Ningbo University, European Centre of China Modern International relationship Institute, Hebei University, Foreign Trade University attended the seminar as formal representatives. Professors and an international student from Freiberg University attended part of the conference, too.
The purpose of the seminar is to provide a platform for the scholars to communicate, and to explain the European Economic Model from distinctive perspective. The topics of the seminar are mainly four as follows,
First, seek equilibrium between efficiency and equity.
Second, understand the multiple governance of EU in the perspective of economy.
Third, understand similarities and diversities under European Model.
Fourth, understand the influence of European model on the world, and the inspiration to China.
