Library and E-Info Centre, formerly called the Documentation Center of IES, was founded in 1981. The IES has been one of the earliest recipients of the EC/EU official documents and regular publications since 1985. The Documentation Center of IES changed the name into the EU Documentation Center in 1994.On such basis it has developed its professional library of five databases on specialized subjects of European politics, laws, economies, external policies and social issues , a reservation of 50,000 books , a great verity of journals , and disked materials for reference. The EU Documentation Center became Library and E-Info Centre in 2007.

Library and E-Info Centre is in charge of both providing reference services to Chinese institutions and scholars of readings on European studies, such as reference books, monographs, periodicals, newspaper clippings, and optical discs, and editing/releasing E-information onto the websites of the institute, the Chinese Association for the European Studies and the Centre of European Studies at CASS.
