Course Syllabus:

This course will give a general view of the historical development of the European integration, including its deepening and widening process, its major phases, landmarks, events and key figures, so as to lay a foundation for a better understanding of some other more specific courses, such as the Economics, Politics, and Law of the EC/EU. Students will be required to do some intensive readings on the major reference books, to attend lectures, workshops relating to the course, in order to have a good grasp of its essence and contents. Finally, papers concerning the history of the European integration will be presented by the participants of the course.
