Chinese Association for European Studies (CASE) is a national-wide, non-government organization of students of European affairs. The CASE has over 400 registered members across research institutions and universities in major provinces and metropolitan cities as well as those associated with relevant central government ministries, the PLA, the press etc. Meanwhile, it maintains close collaborations with other leading non-government and people-people diplomatic entities such as the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, etc.  The CAES is administratively overseen by the Institute of European Studies as its secretariat is sited within the IES. Under the CASE umbrella, there are six societies of state studies, namely Societies of EU Studies, UK Studies, French Studies, German Studies, Italian Studies, Nordic Studies and Spanish Studies; recently the CAES has established 5 additional societies of discipline studies, namely Societies of Politics Studies, Economic Studies, History Studies, Legal Studies,Social and Culture Studies.
