Centre of European Studies (CASS)was set up in 1985. It was initially named as the Document Centre of the European Community. In 1992, it was renewed into the Centre of the EU Studies of CASS, with its scope of business expanded to academic research, training and research coordination. To cope with the implementation of the EU-China Higher Education Cooperation Program, the centre was again reformed in 1997 into the present one, whose leadership and responsibility are of the same with the IES.
