Backgrouder: International Capital Conference
PARIS, June 22 (Xinhua) -- 2013's International Capital Conference (ICC) will take place in Paris on June 24-25, 2013.
It will group 300 Chinese and Western business leaders from all sectors of the economy to build relationships, make deals and exchange views.
The following is a chronology of the major events at the International Capital Conference:
2008: Organized by European business publisher and conference organizer Cavendish Group, the first ICC was held in June at the historic Central Hall Westminster, London, attracting over 150 senior Chinese business leaders, the largest Chinese business delegation ever to visit the capital. The theme of the conference was based around capital-raising for Chinese companies.
2009: The second ICC took place in September in London and was attended by 340 delegates from 80 Chinese and 70 western companies. The conference was addressed by 67 international experts from Europe and the United State as well as senior policy makers and business leaders from China.
2011: The third ICC was opened by then French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris. It attracted nearly 400 senior attendees and 100 speakers from China and the west to discussed about how European and Chinese companies work together to build trade and finance growth against the backdrop of global economic crisis and lower growth forecast.
