Premier Li Keqiang begins official visit to Germany
BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has arrived in Berlin for an official visit to Germany, the only EU country included in his first overseas tour since taking office.
Li says the new Chinese leadership highly values its relations with Germany and Europe. The premier also says it’s China’s strategic choice and long-term policy to develop friendly cooperation with Germany.
He also says China is ready to work with the German side to enhance mutual understanding and trust, expand cooperation and strengthen communication and coordination on global and regional affairs.
The German Embassy to China, says Premier Li will meet German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, and President, Joachim Gauck, during his visit. Economic cooperation is expected to top their agenda. Li will deliver a speech at a business luncheon and make extensive contacts with German political and business figures.
Germany is China’s largest trade partner in Europe and one of China’s most important investment targets.
