Finnish Parliament Delegation at IES

On January 25, 2010, a delegation of the Finnish Parliament's foreign policy committee visited IES and had a discussion with the IES scholars. Director Zhou Hong chaired the round-table.

Led by Pertti Salolainen, chairman of the foreign policy committee, the Finnish delegation was composed of different parties in the parliament. The guests were interested in learning about the views of the IES scholars about such issues as the mentality of the Chinese people towards the globalized world, China's position on the world stage today, the global financial crisis and current EU-China relations.  Zhou Hong and her colleagues exhcanged views with the Finnish MPs on these issues.

One of the delegation members told the Chinese hosts that EU has been following what he described as neoliberal policies.

Lars Backstrom, the ambassador of Finland was also present at the meeting.
