In the great process of constantly promoting the building of a Human Community with Shared Future which draws lessons from history and opens up the future, Europe as an important force, plays a significant role in China’s efforts to improve all-dimensional diplomacy, develop global partnerships and accelerate the construction of new-type international relationships with cooperation and mutual benefit as its core elements. The China-Europe Comprehensive Partnership has progressed steadily in the new era, which, nevertheless, is faced with new challenges in the context of the great changes unseen in a century. The change in the EU’s stance towards China, and the US’ policy of rallying Europe against China, have led to new challenges to China-Europe relations. At present, China-Europe relation has entered a period of mutual adaptation. China’s European studies and the Institute of European Studies thus still have a long way to go.
