ARTICLES

The relations among China, the United States and the European Union constitute the most important trilateral relationship in the current global politics and a complex trilateral convergence of interests has been formed. The international community urgently needs to promote and strengthen effective global governance and build a more inclusive and open multilateral system, which will be dependent on the roles played by China, the US and Europe. China’s strategic choices will play a crucial role in the future trilateral relations. In response to the US’ attempt to force China out of the international system dominated by the US, it is necessary for China to keep calm both ideologically and strategically. It is also indispensable to deepen cooperation with the EU and the other major powers, turning the China-US relations back to a normal track and urging the US to make active adjustments to its China policy. The trilateral relationship between China, the US and the EU will be truly transformed into a typical triangular relationship, which will be a significant safeguard for the democratization of international relations.
