Dr. Jizhou Zhao is Assistant Professor at the Department of European Diplomacy Studies, Institute of European Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Jizhou achieved his Ph. D of political science at Freie Universit?t Berlin, Germany,where he worked from 2011-2015 as Research Fellow(WissenschaftlicherMitarbeiter) of a BMBF-fund project- NFG Research Group "Asian Perceptions of the EU". His research interests range from European foreign, security and defense policies, China-Europe relations, transatlantic relations in security, to EU perceptions. He has published Syria War and Europe (2nd author), France’s Policy Towards Syria, Europe-US ‘Rebalance’ in Defence Cooperation and China –EU Cooperation in fields such as Consular Protection and Arctic governance, etc.. Currently, Jizhou is working on the project of Trans-AtlanticRelationsand NATO, and EU in the Arctic, etc..
