Liu Zuokui, PhD in History (2005), Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Now he is also the Secretary General of the China-CEEC Think Tanks Network and Vice President of China-CEE Institute.

Liu Zuokui once worked at the Division of European Politics, and as the Deputy Head of Division of International Relations and Division of Central and Eastern European Studies. Since 2014, he is the Head of Division of Central and Eastern European Studies and in April 2011 he was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies, CASS.

Liu’s major research interest included: Central and Eastern European Studies, Balkan Studies, European Union Integration Studies, China-EU Relations and EU-USA relations. He once was the visiting scholar of Mannheim University (Germany), Aoyama Gakuin University (Japan), Polish Institute of International Affairs (Poland), Latvian Institute of International Affairs (Latvia) and Hungarian Institute of International Affairs and Trade (Hungary). He has a very rich experience in Central and Eastern European region.

Liu has published or edited several books and many articles including the following:
